ANCHOR is a real estate investment firm specializing in Workforce Industrial properties. These properties are the predominant industrial buildings within most major markets. They include shallow-bay warehouses, light manufacturing buildings, and older distribution centers. They are occupied by tenants representing a wide spectrum of industries.
ANCHOR is an entrepreneurial firm that believes in grit and proudly pours our own blood, sweat, and tears into our endeavors. CODY D. EDGE
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Cody has 19 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, acquisition, syndication, ownership, and disposition. From 2002 to 2018, Cody worked as a community banking executive in Dallas, Texas.
The highlight of Cody’s banking career was the 2007 formation of Bank of Las Colinas, a de novo commercial bank that grew to $60MM in assets before its sale to Veritex Community Bank in 2011.
Beginning in 2010, Cody began opportunistically investing in commercial real estate using personal resources. To date, Cody has leveraged the risk management and financial analysis skills learned from banking to purchase in excess of 300,000 SF of value-add properties. The average IRR of said investments is in excess of 30%.
Cody is a proud TCU graduate where he earned degrees in Finance and Marketing. He and his wife, Tara, live in East Dallas with their two sons.
SAM A. DETHROW
DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITIONS
Sam serves as the Director of Acquisitions, leveraging his background in both private equity and brokerage, he spearheads ANCHOR's acquisition efforts. Sam is able to think and communicate like a broker, while also having a deep understanding of the ownership and capital side. He works relentlessly to source and close transactions on Workforce Industrial assets.
In March 2020, Sam founded Shelterwood Group, a real estate Investment & Consulting firm specializing in Acquisitions, Capital Sourcing, and Market Analytics. His career in real estate began as a Commercial Real Estate Advisor at Citadel Partners. While at Citadel, Sam focused on the Preston Center Office Submarket, providing corporate tenant rep, leasing, acquisition/disposition, and build-to-suit services for clients.
Sam, a Dallas native, attended Parish Episcopal then The University of Mississippi. An active alumnus, he remains involved with The William Magee Center for Wellness Education at Ole Miss and serves as a mentor to students in The Parish Leadership Institute. He is an active member of ULI, The George W. Bush Institute, and is a member at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
